Never intentionaly fished for them with fly but caught loads that way on lochs Tummel and Venachar.

Newmains hot water pond used to be good for big ones.

Depends on where you want to travel?,where their are small perch there are always big ones but it usually takes a bit of time or luck to get one.The best bait i think is a big juicy lobworm,i have tried and had success with live minnows but even the smallest of perch will take a minnow but in my experience they won,t nab a big lob as readily(although some of the little buggers will try). Try your local ponds with a big tub of lobs or if you want to try further afield try around balmaha on lomond or loch luhbnaig in the trossachs at the north end. Very Happy Very Happy

forth and clyde canal holds some rather nice ones as any venue will, method iv used is nice juicy worms on float, popped up few inch off the bottom on the feeder or just simply spinning, places to catch iv found are very noticeable changes in the water... saying that in a new loch iv discovered iv yet to catch 1 over the 2 inch mark Laughing
