hi to all of you i am new to pike fishing and live in DUMFRIES i have been out a couple of times with my 7 year old fishing for pike but he gets very bored and wants to know why his dad does not catch a fish every cast like most of the fishing programmes do so i am looking for somewhere to take him for more fish action either small roach or any coarse fish but with the chance of a pike still i have fished at castle douglas loch and kinmount house loch both with pike around 5 pound so ok for a newbie but a long day on both outings for a 7 year old any tips or hints of fishing within a 30 mile radius of DUMFRIES would be great many thanks if you read all this and any tips would be great . BEANO

| loch ken might be a good loch to try.it holds alot of pike around the 6-10lb mark and also holds alot of other course fish that might be good for your kid to catch |
